Matthew Medeiros '12 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Matt Medeiros, I have been playing golf since I was five years old, and competitively since I was seven. I love the game of golf and there is no feeling better than hitting that pure shot that keeps you coming back for more. I hope to play collegiate level golf, and possibly professionally. My handicap index is currently a 1.1. I have won several jganc tournaments and I have played on the varsity team at my highschool as the #1 player since i was a freshman. Outside of golf i love things that have to do with speed and racing. I love competition and I'm very competitive. To me racing is like being in contention in a golf tournament it gives me a rush nothing else can give me. My main goal is to receive a good education, and to play golf at the same time. I am 6'1" tall, and i weigh 165 lbs. I have won several JGANC tournaments and I won the SCL tournament for highschool when i was a freshman, and i have received all leagu certificates each year i have played. I have also been team captain since i was a freshman, my coaches often tell me i have the maturity, experience, and integrity to be a leader. I have always wanted to play collegiate golf, and hopefully someday in the pros. My dream has always been to be on the big stage just like tiger always was walking up that eighteenth fairway with a chance to win the masters. My most desired geographical area to attend college would be the southern California region, and Arizona. I also like any place in CA, but I truely love so-cal. My goal is to attend a division one or two school, with a strong business marketing and management program. My parents aren't able to pay for my schooling, and I am doing everything I can to receive financial aid to put me through college. My desired major would be Business management/marketing.
