Personal Statement

I am a junior at Poway High School. I am 17, 6'2'', and weigh 175 pounds. As a freshman at Poway High I made the Varsity golf team and also received the Lennie Clements Varsity Golf MVP Award. I had the lowest 9 hole scoring average  and lowest differential on the team. I was 2nd Team All-Palomar League.  During my sophomore year I was Captain and Player of the Year of the Poway High Varsity golf team with a 9 hole scoring average of 37.1. I earned 2nd Team All Palomar League, 1st Team All San Diego Section CIF, and qualified for Southern California State Regionals. During the 2012 season I was captain and MVP and earned First Team All Palomar League and All San Diego CIF Honors. I finished 2nd in League Championships and T3/138 in North County Conference Championships. My league scoring differential was -0.5. I have numerous golf accomplishments outside of high school as well. I qualified and played in the 2010 Optimist International Golf Tournament. I qualified for the 2011 and 2012 Junior World Golf Championships. I represented Team San Diego at the 2011 Hogan Cup in Portland, Oregon and 2012 Junior America's Cup in Idaho, and Team USA at the 2012 Junior Pacific Cup in San Diego. I have had several key wins including the 2011 FCG Fall Series Tournament of Champions, 2011 FCG Fall Series Classic, 2009 California Junior Tour Carlton Oaks, 2007 San Diego Junior Golf Don Stadler Memorial, and 2007 San Diego Junior Golf Billy Casper Invitational. I have 3 second place finishes in SDJGA events as well as 2 top 3s in Toyota Tour Cup events. I have also placed highly in AJGA and FCWT national events, including a top 5 AJGA finish. I can offer a lot to a college golf team because I have a strong work ethic and a desire to win and improve. I am mature and motivated. I have leadership experience because I was the captain of my high school golf, cross country, and basketball teams. I would prefer to major in environmental science, marine biology, accounting, or in the medical field.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
