Minsu Lee '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Min Su Lee, and I am going to be a senior at Willow Glen High School in San Jose, CA. I started playing golf at the age of 15 and I still am so I can achieve my goals. I have been playing on the Willow Glen varsity golf team for 3 years so far and have another year left.

I do not give up on something that I want to achieve such as becoming a proficient college golfer, and then trying to become a Pro. I am a very hard working student and athlete. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and still am to bring it up next year as a senior. I am very focused on things I am doing at the moment such as being in school and being on the golf course. Whenever I am in school, I am very focused on achieving my education skills by paying attention to what my teacher has to say. Whenever I am on the golf course, I am very focused on improving my short game to my long game skills.

My goals for the future is to work hard until I get into an amazing college that fits me, and play for the golf team. I am a student that does not give up no matter how hard the situation is and I will do my best to become successful. I want to play the game of golf for a long time and play competitively.

I am very enthusiastic and active on helping out my community by being part of a senior center, community center, my church in Milpitas, and my leadership program at Willow Glen High School. I started this year giving lessons to juniors that need help improving their golf game.

During the summer of my sophomore year I had spent a lot of time on improving my overall game of golf. The results of my junior year were much better than my sophomore year due to  practicing each day for 5 hours. I allocate my time as follows: Two hours of putting, 2 hours of chipping, and 1 hour of hitting balls. My golf game has improved a lot throughout the years having no problems of hitting the ball with the yardage of 300-350 yards with my driver, 270-290 yards with my 3 wood, and 240-250 yards with my three iron.

I qualified as a BVAL Boys tournament for the  CCS match on my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. Although the results of the three years in CCS was not outstanding, the scores had motivated me to strive more this year as a senior and to play my best to show people that I am capable to play in a competitive level. I qualified for the NCGA ( Northern California Golf Association) Amateur Qualifier for 5 days in Spy Glass Golf Course. I shot one over par 72/71 at Rancho Canada East to qualify for this tournament.
