Jason Semthiti '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jason Semthiti. I am 5'11" and weigh about 125 pounds. This affects my game because I am not able to swing the club as fast and as hard as many other players. However, I make it up with accuracy and my short game. I practice about three or four hours a day at the only, and busiest, golf course in West Los Angeles, Rancho Park Golf Course. The practice facilities are in extremely poor condition. Players are only allowed to hit off mats on the driving range, and the putting greens are always bumpy and slow. This golf course is the only place I can practice, because other courses are either too far away, or are private. I'm sure that if I were given the opportunity to practice at a course with decent facilities, that I would improve drastically. This last year(2010) has been my only year of tournaments. Prior to this, I would only play a couple small tournaments. In short, I lacked the experience. However, this year I played several big events and had a few good finishes. In the beginning of summer, I finished in the top ten at the AJGA in Las Vegas with scores of 71-77-76=224. Then just recently in October, I finished tied 18th at the Toyota Tour Cup at East Valley with scores of 80-71=151 and then 1st at the Toyota Tour Cup at Cypress Ridge with a 73-70=143 to win by one stroke. I am open to both in and out of state schools.
