My name is Cole Spiers, I graduate high school in 2023. I have played golf since I was 6 years old and have never stopped loving the game. Around the time I was 10 years old, I started playing in the First Tee Program. During this same time, I started playing in U.S. Kids Golf Tournaments for several years, while learning the game. I currently work with PGA coach, Rick Sessinghaus (Collin Morikawa's coach). I have worked with him over the past 4 years as my primary swing and mental coach.
I recently began working with PGA Coach Andrew Kramer at Los Serranos Golf Club, for on-course management lessons. I work with PGA coach Sean Lanyi as my putting coach, who I see monthly when he is in town. My golf fitness coach is Roy Khoury, who I have worked with periodically over the past several years.
I really enjoy the game of golf and have been fortunate to have access to awesome coaches thanks to my dad. My mom and dad are actually my grandparents. I have lived with them since I was 3 years old, so I consider them my mom and dad.
Due to the Covid pandemic and my coach Rick Sessinghaus, needing to devote increased time to Collin Morikawa as he skyrocketed on the PGA Tour, I was unable to have lessons and course time for approximately 10 months. I have resumed seeing Rick monthly and work with Andrew weekly. I am currently playing Tournaments on the SCPGA and Future Champions Junior Tours, but I am increasing the number of two-day tournaments I play on the Future Champion Tournaments Tour. The first few SCPGA tournaments earlier this year, I was a bit rusty, shooting in the 80s. Once I got dialed in, my scores have consistently been in the mid to low 70s. My next goal is to have scores consistently at or below par by the end of the year.
I have been involved in the Upland High School Golf Varsity Team since my Freshman Year and lettered in my freshman year. My High School Coach Mrs. Raus has identified me as the top player on the Team, since my freshman year and plans to appoint me as team captain in the spring when Boys Golf begins again for the 2021-2022 season.
My goal after high school is to attend a university to pursue my major in Business and to be a member of the University Golf Team. I take my grades and my golf very seriously and look forward to being involved at a great university.
Respectfully,
Cole Spiers
