Jack Mitchell '21 Recruiting Profile

I am ready for a fresh start.  I have been playing golf since my Freshman year.  I essentially taught myself.  Each year I have improved my game by practicing constantly.  I have the drive and dedication to my game and teaching others.  I lead the team my senior year as captain.  I not only spent time instructing my team on the game of golf, I finished 4th in the State of Colorado.  I have never really had a chance at progressing my game to the level I know I can achieve due to weather inhibitions in Colorado and my lack of coaching.  My grades are NOT a reflection of my abilities.  Like I said, I am ready for a FRESH start.  The last two years have been extremely difficult in dealing with COVID 19.  I had to quarentine on several occasions because I was exposed by a competitor at a golf match.  This not only affected my game it affected my school work.  I choose to quarantine/virtual learner right before the State Golf Tournament because I did not want to miss my opportunity because of the pandemic.  In return, this did impact my grades.  I have always had an issue with retaining information, but COVID 19 had a greater impact on my education than most students.  Without the attention from the Special Education Department daily and interactions with my teachers I continued to fall behind.  I believe I just NEED an opportunity to prove myself.  Like many I have had ups and downs over the last few years and look forward to the opportunity to show my capabilities.
