Hello, my name is Logan Garsez, and I am a Senior and 4-year Varsity (Travel team) Golfer and team Captain at Fountain-Fort Carson High School. I began playing competitive golf when I was in 8th grade through the Southern Colorado First Tee program before progressing to compete both as an individual and as part of the 17U team in the PGA Junior League with Coach Paul Surniak and as an individual in the Colorado Section Of the PGA Junior League. As a Freshman, I played as a Varsity alternate before playing full varsity as a sophomore. In 2022, I Qualified for the Colorado Junior State Open. I am a highly dedicated, hard-working individual and I am often praised for my work ethic both on and off the course. I was born with Apraxia of Speech which is a neurological speech disorder affecting my mouth’s ability to form proper sounds and had to essentially re-train my brain and mouth to communicate. I spent most of my elementary and middle school years in speech therapy to train my body and mind to communicate and ultimately overcame the affliction. Through this obstacle I learned that there is nothing I can’t do and can rise to any challenge. I am maintained a 4.0 GPA in my Junior Year of Highschool with a current cumulative GPA of a 3.6. In addition to my love of golf, I am an honors level band student. I am the first chair French Hornist for FFCHS’s Colorado Band Association (CBA) State Qualifying Concert Band. Last year, I toured the PGA Golf Management program at the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs (UCCS) and discovered that I not only want to continue having the great game of golf be a part of my life, but I defiantly want to compete at the next higher levels. I know I will make an excellent addition to your team. Thank you for taking the time to look over my profile.
