There are many things that have influenced my life. One of the key points that have impacted my life is learning to start over so many times. I have always enjoyed swimming, but I love how I can always show improvement each time I am in the water as well as show my competitive side. Swimming has taught me that anything I put my mind to I can achieve. Academically In college, I would like to get a degree in the science field preferably in physics or engineering.
As I stated above I have had to learn to start over many times the biggest two in swimming that I have had to start over. In my 11-12 year seasons of swimming, I had a back injury and had reconstructive foot surgery due to a birth defect. After physical therapy, I got back into the water and had to catch up to my age group at 13 years old on our senior team. In the 2020 season I showed everyone that once again I can come back and compete after missing a lot of water time due to covid I realized that I had hip pain and had to have my hip labral repaired. During my senior year of high school, I had severe shoulder pain and found out that due to my high school coach over-swimming me, I had inflammation and did steroid shots and physical therapy I have come back and shown everyone that I am tough and will not give up. I have shown teachers, coaches, family, and friends that I am a hard worker and can achieve anything I want. In my freshmen year of school, I was on the varsity swim team and had to learn to be a leader without being the captain of the team. This is what I feel sets me apart from other girls in swimming. I am finishing my long course season with my club and will be moving to college to swim with the University of Nebraska Kearney.
