My name is Tyler White. My goal after high school is to pursue a degree in metallurgical engineering while playing collegiate golf. My character can best be described in three words: grit, dedication, and integrity. It is these three character traits that I will bring to your team.
My grit is illustrated by my courage and resolve. In April 2021, I underwent a partial reconstructive knee surgery, due to a baseball injury. After a long rehabilitation process and an intense amount of training and practice, I am performing better in both golf and baseball than I did pre-surgery. It is this type of grit that I apply to everything I do.
My dedication is illustrated by my devotion to being a top-notch athlete and student. As a multi-sport athlete, exceptional commitment is required to maintain high athletic and academic performance. While excelling at the high school Varsity level in two sports, and competing in numerous Colorado Junior PGA events, I also take multiple honors and AP/IB courses. I maintain a cumulative GPA of 4.28.
Success is meaningless unless it is attained with the utmost integrity. To me, integrity means not just recognizing and working for my own goals, but also those of my team. I possess strong leadership skills and am able to rise above pressure during intense competition. I exercise strong personal principles and accountability in all of my endeavors.
In conclusion, I will make an excellent collegiate athlete, because I apply grit, dedication, and integrity to everything I do. I routinely strive to meet not just my goals, but those of the team, regardless of the obstacles which need to be overcome.
