My name is Devin Farahani and I am a sixteen year old student athlete. My academics are one of the most important things I focus on in my life. I currently have a 4.25 GPA while taking multiple honors level and AP level courses. When it comes to what I love most outside of school, my answer is golf. I’ve been golfing for a little over 2 years and consistently shooting in the low 80s. Golf is something I’m extremely passionate about and would love to pursue now, in college, and throughout my entire life. The biggest reason why I love golf is accountability. Due to the fact that golf is an individual sport, when you have a bad round it's on you, and when you have a good round that's on you as well. Fixing the things that need to be fixed instantly changes your game instead of needing an entire team to do the same. To me, this makes the game so much harder but also more rewarding and special. Another huge challenge in golf is the mental game. Golf is a very long sport that consists of taking many shots every round. If you have a few bad shots in a row, you can easily become discouraged, causing you to have a poor mental game. Your mental game plays a very important role in being a good golfer. I believe that this helps me stay calm and relaxed in my life and any challenges I come across. I plan to continue to focus on improving my golf game everyday so that I can continue to succeed in achieving my dream of being a golfer at the college level and more.
