My name is Avery Duquette and I am looking forward to attending college and being a collegiate athlete. I am very motivated by grades, always trying to do my best in school. I work hard, complete all of my assignments and participate in class discussions. In 2020 (due to Covid), my family relocated to a small town in Colorado so that I could attend school in person full time. My academics are very important to my family and this is why we decided to relocate. I am aware that our move to a smaller town for my academics has lessoned my visibility as a golfer, as well as my opportunities to complete in tournaments and work with coaches that see my potential.
I have been playing golf ever since I could walk (see pictures below). In my younger years, I played on the Jr. PGA league in Denver, Colorado. At age 14, I was able to drive over 300 yards! My golf goals have always been to play at the collegiate level and professionally. I am looking forward to next year’s golf season, as I am hoping to be nominated as my high school’s team captain.
I am aware of my strengths and weaknesses as a golfer, and continuously try to improve my game. I play golf in all kinds of weather (hot, cold, windy, rainy, snowy), because I am passionate and love the game. This summer I am looking forward to improving my game by working with a swing coach, getting my clubs fitted, and playing on my local men’s league. My family and I are willing to travel to work with the best coaches, and I am willing to put in the work that requires to become an amazing golfer.
