Personal Statement
I am Braden Wedel, and my goal is to play golf at a D1 college program. I played in some Junior Golf Alliance of Colorado events in the summer of 2020 plan to play more JGAC events in summer 2021. I am from a small town in eastern Colorado, and the high school I attend has under 60 students. My practice facilities are limited and I've never had a certified swing coach, but I will always work hard and make the best of what I have. I am also very competitive. In addition to golf, I play 6 man football, basketball, and baseball. I am also excellent in the classroom. I have a 4.0 GPA, and I am an FFA officer and National Honor Society member, and I won the 2020 JGAC Award of Excellence.

- This was my second appearance in the CHSAA 3A State Championship. I shot a disappointing 43-36-79 the first day, but rebounded the second day and shot 39-36-75 the second day. I finished 13th, up 37 spots from my 2019 finish of 50th place.

- I shot an 86 the first day, my worst round of the year. I was 4-over through 13, and played the last 5 holes in 10-over par. I had a much better round the second day, shooting a 76 with a triple bogey. I finished 48th, but I moved up 7 spots from day 1 to day 2.

- This tournament was a qualifier for the second JGAC major of 2020, the Colorado Junior Amateur. I shot 80 when I had to shoot 76 to qualify. I hit 14 greens, but struggled mightily in putting South Suburban's difficult putting surfaces, with six 3-putts and a four-putt.

- I shot an 81 when I had to shoot 79 to qualify for the Colorado Junior PGA Championship in my first ever JGAC event. I was 7 over through 15 because I bogeyed my first four holes, but I hit it in the water on the par 3 16th for a double bogey. I parred 17 and 18.
