Jeff Wattles '11 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Jeff Wattles and I live in Tequesta,Fl. I am 6 feet tall 195 pounds and I am a long ball hitter with a touchy short game. I've been playing golf since I was about 6 years old and have become addicted to the game since then. Even though I began competing in tours at the age of 9,I still played other sports like baseball and basketball. My first year of high school I decided I was going to stick with golf because I knew I had something special which meant giving up my other sports. I made the team as a freshmen and had a 37.1 scoring average and was first team all conference as a freshmen. After my freshmen year it hit me that I had the talent to take myself a long ways with golf. My sophmore year I conducted a 36.5 scoring average and won myself first team all county and later on that season I went on to be a state qualifier. I kicked my junior year off by shooting 33 in my first match and had a 35.1 scoring average for the season and won all county honors. I have a lot to offer as a team leader, I was captain of my high school golf team since my freshmen year and I believe that has made me a strong leader. I'm very cooperative and have open ears and am both a leader and a listener. Leading by example I believe is the best way to lead and always show respect to the game, coaches and team players. I would prefer to go to a school in a more urban area with a good well rounded college or university atmosphere. My desired major is to be in the business field and graduate with a degree in both business and marketing. My realistic athletic goals are to attend college to play golf and compete at a high level while getting a solid education. I strongly believe that I have the work ethics, the commitment, desire, determination and responsibility to make it big and I plan on going as far as I can with my golf career. I believe in giving back to the community as well and I enjoy the volunteer hours I have earned helping with fundraisers. Getting a good education while playing college golf and getting an opportunity to put my experience, commitment and success to work for a college team would be a dream come true, one I have worked hard for. That would be a great accomplishment, one that myself and my parents would be very proud of.
