My coaches describe me as a golfer who is committed, coachable, positive, and even-tempered. These characteristics are why I was selected to be the captain of my high school golf team. In addition, these characteristics have helped my game rapidly improve in the 3 short years that I have been playing. In just one year, I decreased my handicap by 7 strokes. This is in part by, staying committed and keeping a positive attitude. Being coachable has also contributed to my success. I am always ready to learn and try new techniques. After a challenging hole, using positive self-talk has helped me to stay focused and consistent. My even temperament has not only lowered my handicap, but also made the game more enjoyable for me. In summary, golf has given me valuable lessons about having the right mindset, improving myself, and never giving up. These lessons are inspiring me to continue to work at refining my game so I can play on a competitive collegiate team.
