My name is Iain Murphy Herndon. I want to first answer the above questions that I selected 'other' in response to. I do have two older siblings and unfortunately, they did not have the same opportunities to go to college as I currently have. They are smart, great mothers, and sisters I could ask for, we are just widely separated in age, so I am lucky enough to get some of the possibilities they did not. I also wanted to let you know that I live at a Preparatory boarding school that has a strong focus on golf and when I am not there, I spend equal time with my mother and my father. My greatest golf influence is my dad, he has always played and encouraged me to play the sport. I also get tremendous support from my mom; she is at all my tournaments. And my sister Magge, has helped with my tournament scheduling, booking my travel arrangements, creating a recruitment account, and supported me in pursuing my passion of playing golf.
My dream is to be a competitive golfer through college and actively play my whole life. I am competitive but I am also a team player and sportsman. I think I have many things to offer as a teammate. I have drive, dedication, a willingness to expand my skills and learn from those around me. I will give you more as a player than you anticipate from me because overcoming limitations and becoming better is my goal in everything I seek to do. I know that sounds corny, but I try to be better every day than I was the day before.
