All my life, I have played sports. When I started elementary school, I was in the Taekwondo after-school program. After the first few months, I decided to join the competition team and took classes six times a week for the next three years. Less than a year after starting Taekwondo, I began playing baseball, which became the sport I played for the next eleven years. Throughout middle school, I participated in all the school sports, including soccer, basketball, track, flag football, and golf, while still focusing on baseball.
I continued playing baseball into high school and decided to join the golf team for fun. After comparing the joy that both sports brought me, I decided to quit baseball in 10th grade to focus on golf by getting a swing coach. Growing up as an athlete greatly assisted me in developing coordination, which made working with a swing coach improve the mechanical side of my golf game. I plan to continue improving by practicing as much as it takes to compete at the next level.
My involvement in sports has taught me valuable lessons about discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, which I apply to my academic pursuits as well. I am currently in my fourth year of my school's aerospace program and have been enrolled in honors classes since the start of high school. Staying focused on my education is a top priority, but by maintaining a strong focus on both my education and athletic goals, I continue to challenge myself to balance everything. This balance helps me grow as both a teammate and a student.
