From the time I could walk, I had a golf club in my hand. Golf has taught me patience, problem-solving, integrity, and to accept that which I have no control over. I have dreamed of playing golf at the collegiate level for many years and it would be an honor to have the opportunity to do so. Living in Atlanta, I am fortunate to play golf year-round and practice daily, rain or shine. I play on the varsity team at school in the #1 position and won the most valuable player award this year. I also compete in many statewide events and tournaments and am a two-time gold medalist in golf at the JCC Maccabi games. I participated in the GHSA state championship as the only individual to qualify from my area tournament my freshman year and was second-team all-area my sophomore year. Once a week I also work on my swing with coach Danny Elkins, PGA Professional, at Georgia Golf Center. I am determined to be the best golfer possible.
The dedication, self-motivation, and determination I have for the game of golf mirrors how I approach my schoolwork. I am never satisfied with just “getting by”. I transferred to my current school as a sophomore after spending my freshman year at a school where I didn’t feel academically challenged. Although I made principal’s honor roll, I wanted to push myself further. I currently take the maximum AP classes available and excel in my studies despite my time on the golf course. I earned a GPA of 4.5 this past year, so I feel confident I am well-prepared for balancing academics and athletics in college.
When not at school or on the golf course, I hold a leadership position in my local B’nai B’rith Youth Organization (BBYO). I have held an elected leadership position since the 8th grade and enjoy working alongside my peers to strengthen our Jewish identities and give back to our communities. My volunteerism at a local food pantry reminds me of how fortunate I am and makes me feel good to help others less fortunate. I enjoy being part of a community and leading efforts to make a difference.
My goal for college is to attend a top university that will prepare me for my career goals and beyond while allowing me to play collegiate golf. I am excited to become part of a college community and to open to all options available to find the right fit. My hope and dream are to find a college that will continue to foster my love of learning.
