As a freshman in high school, my high school career is just getting started. I have a lot of goals I want to achieve, not just in my golf, but academically as well. My main high school goal is to graduate as valedictorian and I will work as hard and as much as I can to reach that goal. Throughout my life I have played different sports, but I have never really shown as much interest as I do in golf. I started competing at age eleven in the GA Junior State Parks Golf Tour. I played in that tour for two years and decided to move on to bigger and more challenging tournaments. I played middle school golf all through middle school. The golf program has not been as popular as the other sports in my area and as a result winning major events didn't exist. In 2017, my eighth grade year, my team mates and I, we became conference champions for the first time ever. I would like to become state champions in high school.
Golf is the only sport I play, because I want to give as much as I can into my development of the game. In November of 2017, after winning a tournament in the Victory Junior Golf Tour, I had the honor of playing in a PGA ProAm with the 2011 and 2013 Walker Cup Team Captain, Jim Holtgrieve. So far, this has been my favorite experience in the game of golf. I love all of the different challenges the sport brings and all of the different challenges that are to come. One of the biggest challenges I have had to face was being a lot smaller than everybody else. I have always been the shortest one. In my golf I could never carry the ball as far as everyone else did. I had to work extra hard to get to that level. Now I can hit it just as far and even sometimes further.
I am not afraid of hard work or a difficult shot. As previously stated, I love new challenges. I believe that I am self disciplined, goal oriented, honest, and a great team player.
