Coach,
I have been playing tournament golf since I was 8 years old. I love this game and have always dreamed of playing at the collegiate level and beyond. I feel that my game has many strengths though my strongest is not physical. I had never been a big knocker, therefore, I had to think my way around the course and be more strategic with my approach. I remain very excited about my potential as my entire game has recently started to gel….shooting 2 under or better in 7 of my last 12 tournament rounds, which included a 5th, 9th, 3rd, and 2nd place finish.
My grades have always been excellent. I’ve yet to make a “B” and will be taking 4 AP classes this fall. I believe my dedication and effort in the classroom has also helped me excel on the golf course. A positive attitude and my willingness to concentrate, especially on days when I don’t have my best, have produced some of my most rewarding scores (and grades). I have always tried to outwork other students and players that appear to have more talent and this will continue to be my goal. I am confident that I would be a terrific addition to your golf program and would exemplify the characteristics that your school and athletic program desire in a student athlete.
