Personal Statement

I am a dedicated athlete and student. I push myself everyday to become better and learn new ideas. I strive to play golf at the highest level while keeping realistic expectations. I strive to have a positive attitude even when things don't go my way. Personally, I enjoy spending time with my teammates on the Waipahu High School golf team and I do really well around others. In the end, I hope to receive guidance from anyone willing to lend a hand and feel the need to prove myself on the course. I've played in high school finishing in at #1 overall in the OIA for my Junior Year. I also have played in JGAH and plan to play in HSJGA as well.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Oahu Interscholastic Association - Kapolei Golf Club Divisional Championships
  • 4/10/23 to 4/10/23
  • This course played a par 72 and 7,000 yards. Out of 63 players, I finished 3rd shooting 76. This day was hard for me, when I completed the first nine holes I was -2. However, the wind started to kick up and I started to struggle mentally. My back nine score was 42 and left me speechless. After this tournament, I started practicing low shots and focused on my chipping and putting.
  • Camp/Event
  • Oahu Interscholastic Association - Ewa Villages Tournament
  • 3/27/23 to 3/27/23
  • This course played 6580 yards and is a par 73 course. I finished 1st out of 66 players and shot -3. I had a great start shooting 3 under in the front shot even par in the back nine. I was hitting my driver in the middle of the fairway and was able to hit the green in regulation on most holes. My ball striking and putting left me a stress-free round with only 3 bogeys.
  • Camp/Event
  • Oahu Interscholastic Association - Barbers Point GC Tournament
  • 3/15/23 to 3/15/23
  • I finished 3rd out of 54 other players shooting even par (72). I had a great front nine and was one under at the turn. However, I changed my game plan and played unnecessarily aggressive, which resulted in three bogies in the back nine. I was able to make two birdies to remedy my mistakes but it wasn't enough to capture the win. This finish taught me to maintain patience and play to my strengths.
  • Camp/Event
  • Oahu Interscholastic Association - Mililani GC Tournament
  • 3/03/23 to 3/03/23
  • I finished T1 out of 56 other players with a score of -2 through 18 holes. I played exceptionally considering a few minor mistakes. I had the potential to score lower if it wasn't for a few missed putts. Regardless, I was able to keep a calm, collected mindset to finish strong.
  • Camp/Event
  • Oahu Interscholastic Association - Barbers Point GC Tournament
  • 3/21/22 to 3/21/22
  • I won this tournament that hosted 45 other players. I shot 70, which was two under par. My striking, mindset, and overall attitude on this day was exceptional and I strive to consistently perform this way.
  • Camp/Event
  • Oahu Interscholastic Association - Leilehua Tournament
  • 3/14/22 to 3/14/22
  • I placed second amongst 52 other players from other public high schools in Hawaii participated in this tournament. I shot the par score on this course, which was 72. Even though I shot well, I still believe that my approach shots from 120 yards and in could’ve been better.
  • Camp/Event
  • Oahu Interscholastic Association - Oahu Country Club Tournament
  • 3/07/22 to 3/07/22
  • A total of 39 boys from public high schools across Hawaii participated in this tournament. The par score for this course was 71, I shot 76 on that day and placed third. After this day, I made it a point to improve my putting stroke and speed control to lower my scores in the future.
