Matthew Fazio '12 Recruiting Profile

Dear College Coach,
My name is Matthew Fazio. I will be a Senior at Marmion Academy in Aurora, Illinois. I am 5'8" and 145 lbs. In my recent years as a golfer in highschool, I individually went to state my junior year, was made all conference and all state, and also recieved the Brother Leo award for academic and athletic excellence over all the athletes at my school. I have placed 2nd in an AJGA national qualifier in East Moline and have competed in aother AJGA tournements. I played in numerous FCWT, MAJGT, and IJGA tournaments as well where I place within the top twenty for the larger tournaments on a very consistent basis and also place top ten in the IJGA tournaments almost every time. I have also placed top five individually in every school invitational which included the top teams in the state along with one medalist finish. I find myself wanting to stay in the midwest specifically Illinois, Indiana and Ohio because I am most used to the type of course conditions and I also want to develop some independence  while still being able to travel home when needed. I am looking for a rigorous academic school that will challenge me. I would like to go to a school with a student body of over 7,000. I am open to public or private schooling as well. I would like to major in business. If and when I play at your college team, I would set high personal goals. I would like to start as a freshman and do my part as a team player to place in invitationals and other tournaments. I have a strong desire to play at the highest competition level possible for my game while leaving an imprint on the golf program at whichever school I decide to play at.
