August 2017Personal Statement
My personal goal for college is to obtain a business degree while being a main contributor on a collegiate golf team. I intend to accomplish this by working hard and staying focused in order to reach my highest level of academic performance which in turn will enhance and raise my performance in my competitive golf game. I believe that I would make a great candidate for any collegiate golf team because I am dedicated, committed, hardworking and passionate about my studies and especially about golf. My commitment to my academics and community service along with my passion for the game of golf make me a unique recruit. My characteristics of responsibility, service, independence and strong leadership along with being a focused and level-headed player help make me a great leader and contributor to a golf team. My main goal for my golf game is to always continue to improve both mentally and physically in all aspects of the game.
It would be a privilege and an honor to be able to play collegiate golf. I have and will continue to work hard on both my academics and my game to be afforded that opportunity.

- Finished 12th of 78 in highly competitive senior showcase event. I shot even par 71 on round 1 and struggled with the high winds and putting on day 2 for a 76. I shot 71-76=147. Winning score was even par 142 so 5 shots from the lead. Par 71, 6701 yards.

- Finished 3rd of 49 in weather shortened event. 27 holes event. I shot 74-38=112, 3 strokes off the winning total. Very tough weather conditions between cold, rain, sleet and snow on Saturday and just cold and wind Sunday. Original field was 60 but 11 dropped out during or after first round due to weather conditions. Saturday had rain, sleet, snow and high winds (30-40 mph). Play suspended Sat after 9 holes. Resumed on Sunday after frost delay to finish first 18 holes in 30 degree temps to start the round. Only enough time for 9 holes in round 2. Event limited to 27 holes only. Par 70, 6396 yards.

- Round 1: +4 thru 16 holes (3rd or 4th on team). Play suspended due to cold, rain & SNOW. Projected finish 75 or 76, 3rd on team. Scores wiped out after round 1. Team had great start thu 15-17 holes in 5+ hrs of 30 degree temps, rain and snow. In 2nd place with strong lead over other teams and only 1-3 holes left. IHSA canceled round 1, eliminated our scores and made it one day event. Round 2: 82, T71/112 (5th on team). We couldn’t repeat our round 1 magic. Each golfer on our team except one played 4-7 stroked worse than previous day. In addition, all the top 3 teams from round 1 including us didn’t place in top 3 in round 2. Team finished 7th in State – 310 in very cold and windy conditions. Disappointing end to a great season especially after our great start on Fri. 6926 yds, par 72

I shot 81 (5th on team - hit 12 of 18 greens in regulation but couldn't find the hole on the green with 38 putts (significantly more than my average) including many lip out birdie and par putts that day. Just one of those days). Placed T47 of 112 golfers. Event moved to Tue due to heavy rains on Monday. Course very wet. Pick and clean on fairways. 6850 yards, par 72.

Low team score 4 times in conference matches including two medalist finishes. Avg team scoring position 2.2. Avg score 75.0 (73.7 in conf).
