Personal Statement

My goal for college is to keep my grades up while playing golf at a high level. What I can bring to your team is athleticism and a positive attitude. My biggest golf accomplishment is qualifying for the US Junior Amateur with a 68. Being the athlete I am, I also play basketball and baseball. My other accomplishments include: winning the 2017 1A IHSA State Basketball Championship, making the state golf tournament (as a sophomore individually), making the varsity golf team as a freshman, and making the varsity basketball team (as a sophomore).

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • US Junior Amateur
  • 7/16/18 to 7/21/18
  • Upper Course - Par 71 - 7300 Yards — Lower Course - Par 70 - 7300 yards - Temperatures in the mid-high 80s with winds between 5-15 mph - Shot 77-77 in the 36-hole stroke play and missed cut by 6 strokes. Definitely could have played better but I learned a lot there. I know I can compete with the best players in the world now and my confidence is way up. One of the best experiences of my life.
  • Camp/Event
  • AJGA Otter Creek
  • 7/03/18 to 7/05/18
  • Par 72 - 7300 yards - temperatures in the 90s with heat index’s around 100-105 with 5 mph winds - Shot 75-71-75. Placed T31 in a very tough field of 102 players. Made 11 birdies total and putted well throughout the week. Didn’t drive the ball well but still found a way to score well.
  • Camp/Event
  • State Farm Youth Classic
  • 6/26/18 to 6/27/18
  • Par 72 - 6422 yards - mid 80s with 10-15 mph wind each day - Shot 83/69. I don’t like making excuses but I was not mentally prepared for the first round. Got into Bloomington around 11 pm the night before after a 2 and a half hour drive and after qualifying for the US Junior Am. I came back focused the next day and shot the low round of the day out of 60+ other players. Finished T-13 overall.
  • Camp/Event
  • US Junior Qualifier
  • 6/25/18 to 6/25/18
  • Par 71 - 6500 yards - low 80s with low winds - Shot 68 and qualified for the US Junior Amateur at Baltusrol Golf Club. There were 55 players competing for 2 spots. The medalist shot 67.
  • Camp/Event
  • Prep tour
  • 5/30/18 to 5/31/18

  • Par 72 - 6530 yards - temperatures in the 50s and 60s with 10-15 mph winds - Shot 78/72. Placed T-2.
  • Camp/Event
  • IHSA State
  • 10/13/17 to 10/14/17
  • Par 72 - 6427 yards - Temperatures in the 60’s - shot 80/83 - I didn’t play my best golf this year at state, but finally made it with my team this year. Looking forward to next year.
  • Camp/Event
  • IHSA Sectionals
  • 10/09/17 to 10/09/17
  • Par 72 - 6440 yards - Temperatures in the mid-70’s - shot 77 - Went out in 36 on the front nine, but had a couple difficult holes on the back and finished with a birdie on the last hole to place 7th in the sectional.
  • Camp/Event
  • IHSA Regional
  • 10/03/17 to 10/03/17
  • Par 71 - 6351 yards - Temperatures in the mid-70’s - shot 72 - I was leading by one stroke after 16 holes and went birdie birdie to win the regional by 2 strokes.
  • Camp/Event
  • AJGA The Legends
  • 7/09/17 to 7/13/17
  • The Missouri Bluffs - Par 71 - 6900 yards - temperatures in the low to mid 90's, sunny, and mid to low winds - Quailifier shot 81 - A very tight and very hilly course made for a tough walk on a hot day. Three bad swings/mental lapses costed me getting into the tournament.
  • Camp/Event
  • AJGA Otter Creek Championship
  • 7/02/17 to 7/06/17
  • Par 72 - 7110 yards - temperatures in the high 80's, sunny, and low winds - Qualifier shot 76 - I started off 5-over thru 4 holes with a quadruple bogey and finished 1-under from that point. Ended up in a playoff with 2 other players for two spots. After we all pared the first playoff hole the next hole, a par 5, I go for the green in two and put it to four feet and make the putt for eagle and get into the tournament. - In the tournament I shot 81/78.
  • Camp/Event
  • State Farm Youth Classic
  • 6/26/17 to 6/28/17
  • Par 72 - 6442 yards - temperatures in the mid 70's to mid 80's, sunny, no wind the first day followed by 20-30 mph winds the second day - shot 70/85 - The first day was the most perfect day a golfer could ask for, no wind and a little rain the day before. The front nine for me was easily my best nine holes shooting 32 and making an eagle on the 10th to go 6-under thru 10. Just one mental error on the back costed me a 68, but very happy with the round. The next day was the most windy I have played in all year and a few bad holes cost the tournament for me. Just for reference, my second day score was the 12th best score of the day out of 72 players. Ended up taking third place, two strokes behind first.
  • Camp/Event
  • Indiana Elite
  • 6/22/17 to 6/23/17
  • Par 72 - 6533 yards - temperatures in the mid to low 80's, cloudy, high winds the first day and low winds the second day - shot 79/80 - The tournament had a cut after the first day and started the second day by resetting everyone's scores.
  • Camp/Event
  • Optimist Quailfier
  • 6/12/17 to 6/15/17
  • Par 72 - 6821 yards - temperatures in the mid 80's, sunny, and mid to high winds - shot 78/85/80 - Ended up taking 17th place.
  • Camp/Event
  • Prep Tour
  • 6/01/17 to 6/02/17
  • Par 71/day 1 6427 yards/day 2 6745 yards- Shot 77 the first day and 80 the second day to shoot 157. First tournament of the year in 80-85 degree weather with 5 mph wind. Placed T-2 and lost scorecard playoff to take third place.
  • Camp/Event
  • IHSA state
  • 10/14/16 to 10/15/16
