I want to be the best student-athlete I can be at a high achieving academic and athletic college or university.
I first became interested in golf when I was 12 years old. Since the first time I played, I was hooked. As I continued playing golf, I started taking the game more seriously. The turning point in golf for me was the summer after I graduated middle school. I knew I wanted to play golf in high school. I spent the entire summer working on my game to accomplish my goal of making the high school team. I accomplished my goal and made the JV team. I played my freshman year and rotated between spots 1 and 2 on the JV team. The subsequent summer, my goal was to work hard and make the varsity team. Once again, I accomplished my goal through hard work, and was a member of the varsity team that placed 3rd in state. I played spots 4 and 5 on our golf team my sophomore year. Going into the summer of my junior season, my goal was to work hard and help our team repeat our success at state. Our junior year was a success. I rotated between spots 2 and 4. We repeated a trip downstate and placed 10th.
My future goals include working hard to improve my golf game during my senior year, and to hopefully secure a spot on a college team.
My academic goal throughout the rest of high school is to maintain or improve my current GPA. My goals for college are to maintain the high standard of excellence I have accomplished in the high school classrooms to date.
Golf has helped me to build and maintain strong characteristics such as hard work, determination, discipline, sportsmanship, loyalty, and integrity.
I love the game of golf and I understand how important academics are and my goal is to work as hard as I can to incorporate both in my college experience.
