Personal Statement

As a captain on the team since my freshman year, 5 time Terre haute junior city champion,  2 time Brazil junior open champion, holding 3 school records for lowest score at my home course (-4) under, lowest putts in a season, and low medalist every match my freshmen year. I work very hard to accomplish what i have done in my golf career and plan to keep working very hard over the years. I plan on playing college golf for a D1 school when that time comes. I always have a positive attitude through any situation. I think I would be a good candidate for your team because I work very hard to improve to be the best athlete I could possibly be!

  • 2 day tournament. The first day I didn’t play good at all. I shot a 78 on 18 holes and was tied for 2nd place going into the championship round. I knew going into it I was going to have to play very hard to claim the title for the 5th time. Going into the second day, 1st place had me by 7 strokes. The next day on the championship round, I focused extremely hard and played the best I could play and ended up winning by 1 shot shooting a 71.

  • Very cold and rainy day. I was off to an okay start on the first few holes and then after that I played very poorly. I ended up shooting an 80 to take 1st place 2 years in a row.
  • Camp/Event
  • Sectionals
  • I had a good start to my round. I was even all the way up to hole 4 and then i got a couple of birdies from there. When I made the turn onto the back nine, that is where I made a few silly mistakes to cost me a few strokes. I got back into my game and played the rest of the round 3 over par. My final score was a 75 to take second place by 1 stroke. 1st place finished with a 74.

  • Regionals
  • I started my round off great! I didn’t make any mistakes until i got the the 5th hole. When i got the the 5th hole, I made a couple mistakes. I ended up 4 putting a par 3 and took a triple bogey. I soon realized I needed to focus and play my game. I didn’t let that whole get in the head or i knew my round was not going to be good. I played hole number 6 even and 7-9 I birdied out to finish the front 9 even par. On the back 9, I got out to a good start right away. I birdied holes 10 and 11 and parred 12 and 13. I was 2 under going into my 14th hole. I ended up taking another triple bogey due to a water hazard. I was now 1 over par. I didn’t let that hole get in my head as well. I played the rest of my round and ended up shooting a 76 to miss a playoff by 1 shot to go to state.

  • It was a 2 day tournament. The second day was the championship round if you qualified for it. We ended up playing the first day when a big storm was moving in. I had to start on hole 14 and got off to a great start. I parred 14 and 15 and birdied 16-18. I was 2 under going into my 6th hole and it started to rain and storm. They called off the tournament for a few hours and the rain didn’t hold off. They ended up postponing the tournament until the next day and we would restart all over again. The course was under water that whole next time we were playing and the scores were not good for anyone. I ended up shooting my worst round of the year there with a score of 86.
  • Camp/Event
  • Brazil Open
  • The brazil open was a 2 day tournament. We played Saturday for the first round and then Sunday for the championship round. The first round I played very well. Ended up shooting 3 under par with a score of 68. I got put in the Championship flight for the 2nd round. I was playing with some of the best guys in the area. I ended up shooting a 68 again for the championship round to take 2nd place.
  • Camp/Event
  • Brazil Junior open
  • 2 time winner of the Brazil junior open. 2017 and 2018
