My story in golf remains mostly unwritten. I started my journey to college golf as a Junior in High School with little to no experience. The harder I worked, the more potential I saw for myself as a golfer. From Junior to Senior year, my 18-hole tournament average improved from 89 to 79. I know my limited golf experience will be viewed negatively by some, but I view it as a strength rather than a weakness - as my full potential is still largely untapped.
I attended Mount St. Joseph University in the Fall of 2022. As a freshman, I qualified for the first tournament; unfortunately, I suffered medial collateral ligament/meniscus sprains the first day of play and missed the entire Fall season. Like everyone else, I have worked through ups and downs in golf and life, but through hardship I have found something even greater to play for now. My dad was recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and this has generated even greater purpose within me as I want to be sure he sees me achieve great triumphs in golf and in life.
I am back home this semester (Spring 2023) and commuting to IUPUI as I continue my studies while my dad undergoes treatment. I am working hard in the classroom, weight room and on the course preparing for summer tournament play and collegiate-level golf again the Fall of 2023. I cannot wait to get an opportunity to prove someone right for taking a chance on me. My story is still being written; and my next chapter is about to be my best one yet.
