Personal Statement

I have been playing competitive golf since 2013. I started out at age 11 playing 9 hole city tournaments with my dad as a caddie. Later that summer, I went on to play 18 hole state tournaments. From there, I have moved on to playing in 36 hole regional tournaments and invitationals. In 2016, I made the Golfweek All-Midwest team for the first time.

My school golf career began in 6th grade when I made my middle school team. I started every match that year and I went to play as number one in my 7th and 8th grade year. I am happy to say that I am a part of Center Grove High School's golf team as we are ranked number one in the State of Indiana. We have 8 players ranked on junior golf scoreboard! We won the IHSAA state championship in 2017.

Before I started to play golf I played soccer, basketball, and baseball. I was a starting pitcher in baseball but I just enjoyed golf a lot more. At the age of 13, I gave up baseball to focus on my golf game.

One thing people do not know about me is that I am left handed, but I golf right handed. I think being left hand dominant helps me swing the club better from that side of the ball. I want to go to college to get my degree in either Economics, Accounting, Finance or a MBA, but I am undecided on which major to pursue at this time.

I had identical +5, 77's. Both days I struggled on the front 9, but kept grinding and had good back 9's. 42-35 on day 1 and 41-36 on day 2. I finished 7th out of 42.

Day 1 was an 80. First 18 outdoors and I didn't have much short game touch. Day 2 was a 69 with 7 birdies and 4 bogeys. I was T50 out of 94 after day one and moved up to T17 after day 2.

Saturday 37-39-76 and Sunday was 39-39-78. I was 10 over for the tournament and six of my bogeys were from 3-putts. The greens were much slower than I am used to and I had a hard time getting it to the hole. Finished 15th out of 35.

Saturday was 37-35-72. Sunday I went 37-41-78. I had a triple on Sunday that I would like to have back. Flyer in the rough plus down wind. Ball flew the green and went OB behind it. Finished 7th/46 in the 14-15yo group, 24th/108 in the overall 14-19 group.

Not my best tournament off the tee.. Saturday was 42-39-81 and Sunday was 39-38-77. Also, the high temperature both days was 39 degrees. I probably should have spent some time that week practicing swinging with heavier clothes on.

Saturday was a 40-38-78 and Sunday was a 37-40-77 for a T7/50 finish. I was on pace for a solo 2nd being 1 over through 14 holes. But I three putted twice and didn't clear the hazard on 18 for a double.

Saturday was very windy and then rained the last few holes. Sunday was mostly just rain. It rained for a couple of holes and then would stop for a hole and then rain again. I shot 40-40-80 on Saturday and 38-34-72 on Sunday. 7008 yards and a 74 rating. Felt good to get down to par again. Finished T17 out of 82

Saturday was a balanced 39-39, 78. Sunday was a 42-38, 80. It was good enough for 8th out of 32. The course was very firm and the winds were blowing hard. I was pretty satisfied overall, especially with how I played the previous 2 tournaments.
