Ashton Martens '22 Recruiting Profile

I was introduced to the great game of golf at the age of 6 when I received my first set of US Kids clubs.  I played in my first tournament when I was 9. Ever since then, I knew I wanted to compete at the highest level of college golf.  I believe I have the physical and mental game to compete and succeed at the Division I level.  I am very self-driven, do my best to always put the team first, and use my blue-collar work ethic to reach my academic and athletic goals.  When I arrive at the golf course, I make simple goals to help me move forward and improve my skills.  I believe that the game of golf mirrors much of life.  There are times when you get tripped up or catch a bad break, but in order to move forward and succeed, you have to maintain a positive attitude through the whole round.  I do my best to live by the Ben Hogan line, "the most important shot in golf is the next one."  I wake up each morning with the same dream of playing golf at the Division I level and I hope to one day make that dream become a reality.
