My love for softball sport started in second grade watching my sister play rec softball. She wanted to be a pitcher and started lessons. I wanted to do everything she did so I asked to start pitching lessons too. We have worked together for years to push each other to work hard and be the best pitcher, teammate, and competitor. Though we have very different styles and pitches, the support we have had for each other has helped us to be competitive, strong players.
I started playing travel softball on a 10U team in 2015. In 2016 my 12U travel team qualified to play in the 12U World Series in Orlando, Florida. It was a memorable experience giving us the opportunity to play teams from all over the U.S. I have played for three different travel team organizations. Each providing a different coaching style, team atmosphere, and the opportunity to meet and make new friends.
I earned a starting position on my high school varsity team my 8th grade year playing 2nd base and relief pitcher. My Freshman and Sophomore years I have had the opportunity to share the starting pitcher and middle infield positions with my sister on our high school varsity team. Our different styles and pitches, allow us to change things up and add variety to keep our competitors on their toes.
I am hardworking and competitive. I care about my teammates and our goals. I love getting to know new people and learning from different experiences. Through Jr. High and High School I have been a multi-sport athlete participating in Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball, Track, and Softball as well as being on Student Senate. Participating in a school sporting activity and travel softball at the same time can be a challenge. Academics is very important to my future and I work hard to keep a 3.8+ grade point.
I am undecided as to the career I wish to pursue and am ready to find something that is my niche. I’m looking for a program that will be a good fit for me both academically and athletically. My goal for softball is to find the right team that can be competitive and supportive, but also pushes each other to be a better people and players.
