I have been playing golf since I was ten years old. My dad signed me up for a summer camp where I met my coach, Skip, who helped me discover a sport that changed my life. He has been my mentor as I advanced through his junior golf program and played various tournaments to improve my game. I have worked really hard to lower my score by playing in as many tournaments as possible. I have had great support from my family and teammates who helped me persevere through the more challenging rounds of golf!
I wish to pursue a business degree and I am looking for a college that can offer a smaller class size where I think I would be the most successful academically. I realize that golf requires athletes to miss many days of class and although my GPA doesn't necessarily reflect my potential, I've learned to overcome academic challenges to ensure I can be successful. Being on an IEP has helped me become a good time manager and a self-advocate when I need extra tutoring. Golf is an important part of my life and I know I can be an asset to any university and golf team! Thank you for your consideration.
