My name is Lucas Flaherty and I am currently a 16 year old junior at south portland high school in south portland, Maine. I didn't take the game very serious until freshman year and once I started to take it serious I knew that I wanted to play golf at the collegiate level. I am very passionate about becoming a better player.
My freshman year I made the varsity team and was the 4 man for the first match and then In the first match of the year I shot a 34. and quickly went up to the two spot and then after the second match I moved up to the 1 man and stayed there for the rest of the season and haven't moved spots sense then and just finished up my junior year season at the 1 man as well. my freshman year I was the only person on my team that qualified for states on my team. to finish the season I was awarded first team all-conference. my sophomore season I was also the 1 man on my team and qualified for states along with one other of my teammates. this year which was my junior year I had a good season I qualified for the Maine am, was a alternate for the Maine team for the new England junior invitational. and to finish the season up in high school I had a scoring average of 36.8. I won the qualifier for the smaa states qualifier with a 73 1 over par. and to end it I won the class a Maine high school championship with a score of 72 even par.
