As captain of my golf team and a prospective student, I am interested in learning more about your golf program.
I currently maintain a 3.1 grade point average in a rigorous academic curriculum. I will continue to work hard and have a goal of making the dean’s list again this quarter. Academics are very important to me and will play a key role in the college selection process. I am scheduled to take the ACT again in December.
To improve my golf swing and short game techniques, I have been working with noted instructor Mr. Shawn Hester (508-344-5335) based out of the Charles River Country Club, the shared site of the 2013 U.S. Amateur. I also see Mr. Todd Anderson at the Sea Island Performance Center at Sea Island, Georgia. In addition, I work out regularly in order to maximize stamina, strength, and flexibility.
I believe my past successes in hockey (2009 Mass State Championship Finalist), baseball (2011 Little League District Championship Team, and Regional Finalist), and basketball (Freshman team leading point scorer and MVP) have played a significant role in my athleticism, sportsmanship, and competitive desire to excel. As much as I love these sports, I will only continue to play them recreationally in order to pursue my golf career. I have made a decision to devote my out-of-the-classroom energy and time to my true passion, competitive golf.
