Daniel Runkel '22 Recruiting Profile

Greetings, I am a class of 22' golfer, currently at Combine Academy in Lincolnton, North Carolina. I have been playing golf for as long as I can remember but didn't get into the game seriously until my late high school years. My junior year's season got cancelled, due to COVID-19, but jumped right into the competitive side of the sport my Senior year. As a Senior, which was my first year of playing official golf, I made the all conference team and fell just a single stroke short of the state cut. Out of high school I had plans of pursuing basketball but due to some unusual situations, it did not work out. When that happened I knew it was time to pursue golf. I love the game with a passion and my ambition to work hard and get better everyday is very high. I feel as if I can also provide my teammates with good words of encouragement as I will always be a leader like I was on the court. I have played in my first three competitive golf tournaments in my short time of being here. My tournament average as of right now is 85.17. I have been consistently scoring better each tournament so I am confident my tournament average will improve in the near future! I normally shoot in the high 70's and my personal record is a two under par, 70. I would love to hear from any kind of school as I realize time is running out for the 2022-2023 season. Thank you!
