My desire to play golf in college is based on my competitive spirit and my interest in determining just how good I can become with college level coaching. I have been told by the high school golf coach and the local club professional that I can play at the next level based on their experience. If I did not pursue this strong desire/dream at the college level, I would always be left wondering "could I have made it".
I believe that many of my personal traits will enable me to be successful in this pursuit of college level golf. Starting in the 8th grade, I developed a very strong motivation to achieve excellence in golf by practicing a lot, and playing against the best competition locally, and learning from caddying for some very excellent golfers. Each time that I tee the ball up, I strive to beat the competition and better my best score. I don't settle for "as good as yesterday".
The goals that I want to pursue are both athletic and academic. Only a few golfers become the elite of the PGA tour so I must have an excellent education with a focus on business. The athletic success with golf at the college level will determine what future golfing pursuits I undertake.
