I have been playing golf with the First Tee Program since first grade. I played other sports along the way, football and hockey, but then realized that golf was my true passion. Once I decided that, I have been completely focused on improving my game and imagine what a future in golf might look like. I live at my home course. In fact, I am there so much that I am referred to as the "Mayor of Hiawatha." I am employed there and also work for the First Tee program as an assistant coach. I have represented the First Tee of the Twin Cities at two National First Tee Tournaments and regularly volunteer at tournaments around the Twin Cities area. I think this means that I have the kind of character and sportsmanship that matters for the game of golf, and for sports in general. I constantly think about how the game of golf is not just a sport but how I live my life. There are so many things about golf that transfer to success in life. I believe that the skills I have learned in golf, especially through the First Tee program, will make a difference for whatever I decide to do in life. I work hard and practice a lot. Not only in golf, but also in school. It is important to me to have a strong academic education so that whatever unfolds in my life, I have a solid foundation.
