My Sophomore year when our team won the Minnesota 3A Section golf tournament and placed 3rd in the State tournaments was one of the most challenging and rewarding times in my golf career thus far. As the number six player on Varsity, I had to qualify for each tournament I played in and qualify for the Section / State Tournament team. This helped develop my mental toughness in practice and in matches on a variety of courses. This toughness was a factor in the scores I shot in Sections and State which placed me in the third scoring position and helped our team place 3rd in State. These experiences strengthened my understanding of the importance of every athlete doing their best on every day to help the team succeed.
My junior year I was our high school teams #3 player and maintained a school season scoring average of 78.9 making it into the state tournament and now during the summer I achieving average of 76.9. I qualified for the State Amateur Championships and won the Birchmont Match Play junior division. I suffered a torn MPFL in February when I dislocated my kneecap skiing but I postponed surgery to have a fantastic season and expect a full recovery from surgery by December of 2022.
As a college student I’m looking for a college / university that will be academically challenging and engaging and provides the opportunities to take full advantage of student life through sports, travel abroad, and engaging interactions with professors and students. As a college athlete I’m looking for an athletic environment that is both challenging and supportive and which will allow me to contribute as an individual and team player to my fullest potential. As a three-sport athlete, I know that I have the commitment, determination, and skill to be an impactful player and leader on your team.
