I fell in love with softball as soon as I started playing in kindergarten. I loved the game, the relationships I gained through the sport, and who it required me to be. I am extremely competitive and always push myself and my teammates. I am usually the one coaches turn to when they need someone for something not well practiced or simply a position to be filled. I am extremely dedicated to the sport and focused on both my own and my team’s goals. My teammates for the most part look to me for keeping everyone on track and involved in the game. During both practices and games I have no fear of getting my teammates to knock off any side chatter and focus on softball. By no means am I not fun loving, and refuse to goof off with the girls but unlike others I believe that there is a place and a time for both. I am usually the one to stay late or show up early to work on a skill that I can’t seem to get right. Usually that’s pitching but there are always the extra hitting and fielding sessions.
I would like to continue to play softball for as long as I possibly can because it gives my life structure, fun, and it keeps me happy. Softball season is usually when my grades are the best and I am able to sort out my priorities better as I do not have the time to procrastinate. The field is my happy place, it always has been. The best moments of my life happened while playing the game or being around it. I am always happiest at practices, games and tournaments. For these reasons I would love to continue playing through college and continue to be impacted by this amazing game.
