My name is Jack Cronin,
Thanks for looking at my profile.
I started playing golf at a young age with me dad helping me to learn. This led to playing in local tournaments around age 5. I began playing in the US Kids Golf tournaments at age 7.
We did not have a US Kids local tour in the area at the time, so I had to travel and play in qualifiers in a variety of states in order to play at the US Kids World Championship at Pinehurst. I qualified for and played in the Championship from age 7-12 and for most of those years, I was the only kid from the state of Missouri to play. My best finish was 69th, but usually I was one of the smallest kids in the field.
I'm 17 years old and 5'10" now and I have a full resume of local and national tournaments. Since I was on the smaller size when I was younger, I was forced to concentrate on my short game in order to be able to compete with the kids who were long off the tee. Now that I can hit the ball a competitive distance compared to my peers, I am able to score because my short game was well developed as a young player.
I recently finished my junior year as the runner up in the Missouri Class 4 State Golf Tournament. I have had several good finishes this summer and will play in several more tournaments before the summer ends. My Junior Golf Scoreboard ranking is improving and I am ranked 6th in Missouri.
I am hoping to study business in college. I believe my best golf is yet to come and I am hoping to find a fit for college with a supportive coach and teammates to round out my college experience.
Thank you again for looking at my profile and considering me for your class of 2020.
