Ryan Haxel '12 Recruiting Profile

Here are five important points you should know about me:

1)  I  am a Christian and I believe that my actions on and off the course will demonstrate my respect for the game, my teammates and my coaches. I'm sure that you will not find a golfer that will represent your University with anymore character than I will. I have been around the game of golf my whole life; my father has been a PGA Proffesional for more than 20 years.   I have been exposed to swing instruction since I was 5 years old, and a strong doce of fundamentals (grip, stance, and posture) has enabled me to build a swing that will hold up under pressure. I have learned a lot about the golf swing, but I also know that you never stop learning, so I am looking for a coach and program that will help me continue to develop as a player. I love to practice and work on my game and I will continue to improve throughout my High School and College career. I have accumulated a lot of tournament experience over the past 4 years, competing in more than 50 local, regional and national events. I finished 1st team All State as a sophomore and a Junior, although I was very disappointed that I did not win. You can go to my NCSA profile for an in-depth look at my tournament history. I am looking for a University that will provide me the opportunity to excel in my field of Business and provide an environment where my teammates and I can pursue excellence on the course. I feel it's very important that the golf program has a good tournament schedule and the desire to "compete and work hard" to move up to the top of the Conference and beyond. I attend a college preparatory High School in St. Louis that prides itself on rigorous academic studies, although my test taking skills on the ACT do not currently illustrate my abilities in the class room, I have always worked hard to maintain my GPA at 3.2. The hard work has lead me to expect and understand that college will require hours of study each night, and I am up for the challenge.
