As a multi-sport athlete, I have learned a lot about myself over the years through Football, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, and Golf. Each sport has taught me many lessons that have helped me not only on the court, field, or course, but also outside of sports. In Football, Basketball, Soccer, and Baseball I was a part of a comradeship. Every person on the team works together and depends on one another to accomplish a single goal. Golf is much the same, but is also an "individual" team sport as I am simultaneously competing with and against my teammates. We all push each other to accomplish our best performances to work toward the team goal for meets, districts, and state all with individual scores that make up a team score, but in the end, success for one can knock another friend and teammate out of the running. Being part of all of these sports has taught me to work with and respect different types of individuals, which to me, is valuable in every aspect of life, both inside and outside of sports.
I have been playing golf since I was three years old. It started out as just going out with my dad and playing at our local course and other area courses, and quickly became the sport that I grew to love. I have aspired to play at the collegiate level since I was seven years old. My freshman year of high school, I tore my ACL, MCL and PCL at the start of Basketball season and underwent surgery. Recovery time put me out until two weeks before my Golf season started, and it was then that I made the executive decision to focus year-round on golf, the sport where my passion lies. I look forward to the opportunity to pursue golf at a collegiate level.
I work hard year-round on Golf, participating in multiple tournaments outside of the High School Golf season. If I am not able to be on the course, as I do live in Nebraska, I am putting the time in on my simulator. I am also a member of Nebraska Junior Golf and will be participating in competitions associated with the Nebraska Golf Association after my High School Season concludes. Participating in years of Little League (Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Soccer), High School Golf, and lifting in the weight room all contribute to my athleticism.
I have strong motor skills as well as attention to detail, a strong physique, mental toughness, and high Golf IQ. I am a team leader and always try my best to lead by example. I am very coachable and have always assisted my coaches with leading practices and helping other teammates be successful. I strive to be one of the hardest working players you will find.
In the classroom, I study hard to maintain my GPA. My grades have always been important to me and I have worked hard to attain a balance between my academics and extra-curricular activities in order to be successful in both. My volunteer work includes helping with youth basketball and golf camps, church, as well as the local food pantry.
My goal is to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom as well as on the Golf Course. First and foremost, I am looking to pursue the PGA Golf Management Program. A Business Degree has always been at the top of my list as I have plans to incorporate Real Estate into the mix down the road. I am open to all options and would like to find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I aim to be a great role model to my peers, community, and continue to make my parents proud.
