I have always had a love of sports and competition. In addition to golf, I’ve competed in football, baseball, basketball and track, but I knew right away golf was the sport for me. I started playing golf when I was 10 and immediately enjoyed the commitment, focus and dedication required to achieve my goals in golf. At age 12 I won the 10-12-year division of the Nebraska Junior PGA and at age 13 I took 2nd in the 12-13-year division of the Nebraska Junior Golf Tour. I shot my first sub 70 round of golf in a tourney at the age of 14. At age 16, I won the Central Nebraska Junior Amateur Tournament, and was the 2019 Nebraska Junior Golf Tour Boys 16+ player of the year.
At the high school level, I’m fortunate to participate in the Nebraska Class A division, which is the largest and highly competitive division in Nebraska. My Freshman year of high school I received my first athletic letter in golf, which was followed by another letter my Sophomore year. I also competed in the Class A State Championship as a Sophomore and our team finished State Runner-Up.
I love the commitment required in the game of golf in order to excel. Golf is very much a mental game, which requires dedication, clarity and constant practice and I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, dedication, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact. I’m looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically.
