Darren Hung '24 Recruiting Profile

I struggled with and hated the game of golf for six years and almost quit before my sophomore year in high school, but I persisted. Over the summer before my sophomore year, I began to enjoy playing golf as I played more frequently with my dad and younger brother. With a newfound passion for the game, I enjoyed working hard towards improving and perfecting my game on a daily basis. During that school year, I joined my high school’s varsity golf team, and the team environment enhanced my love for golf. I am thrilled to have contributed to the team winning the regional and state championships in the spring of 2022.  

Similar to my desire for perfection in golf, I tirelessly practiced piano from the age of seven and won top three in many global competitions including the American Protege’s International Competition, giving me the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall in 2021.

For my college endeavors, I would like to pursue math related majors as I am motivated by the challenge of problem-solving. Because of my love for golf and math, I enjoy helping and teaching friends and family. Academically, I am currently working towards being the top of my class, since I am very competitive and want to be the best at everything I do.
