2023 HighlightsPersonal Statement
Hello coach. As your future player, I think you should get to know me. My name is Steven Bender. I excel at school probably more than golf so you will never have to worry about my grades. I have been playing golf for a long time but only recently started tournaments. I balance competitive tournaments with participating in charity events to support causes I believe in. I think this makes me a better candidate. I am more determined to prove myself. I work harder and love golf. I am a fast learner and I take instructions well. If you said "to make the team, I need to wave around a sign while wearing a speedo on the street corner" I would, because I love golf that much. I want to play college golf because I love the sport and tough competition. I hope you can appreciate that.

Training
- Personal training with Dr. Matt Rice. I also trained and completed by first Tough Mudder in December 2022. I really enjoyed it and plan on doing more. It helps with golf for speed, agility, strength and teamwork.

- Training consisted of weights, cardio and working out with my team of friends. I also have completed Level 1 of the Wim Hof method for meditation, stretching and ice baths.

Are you in honor classes?
Yes. I am attending a charter school. When I compare the work I am doing to the work my friends in public school are doing in their honors or A/P classes, I definitely see that I am receiving the same or better education as public school honors or A/P classes. - AwardsI have a 3.77 GPA and complete my work ahead of schedule. I am self driven and disciplined as my charter school allows me to create my own schedule. While they do not have National Honor Society, I would definitely qualify for it in public school.
- ActivitiesI am certified through Box 'n Burn Academy to teach boxing. I am working on my pilot's license, completed my first Tough Mudder this year, volunteered at a reptile zoo where I took care of reptiles, led educational seminars and advised people on which reptile might be best for their family. I have an active social life with a wide diversity of friends.
