I was first introduced to golf by my grandfather at the age of five. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked. Not only does the game require extreme skill and touch, but also it is very demanding mentally which is why I love it. Through this game I have developed amazing friendships and learned a lot more about myself. The biggest things the game has taught me is how to persevere. As a freshman I became an instant leader and motivator on a team that had not had consecutive winning seasons in many years. As a freshman I led the team back to a winning record and was awarded with the team Most Valuable Player award. However, my real challenge came my sophomore season. Seeing a young team with incredible potential, I really had to control the mental side of my game more than in years past. That experience led me to refocus on my goals during the offseason.
Now, going into my junior year, I feel like my game has grown the most it ever has before. I am looking to be a part of a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I have challenged myself over my high school academic career taking nearly all honors and AP classes. My work style has transferred over to my golf game. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but also the commitment and leadership to instantly contribute to a program.
