My name is Tyler Thomas, class of 2020 from Corning-Painted Post High School in Corning New York and I started playing golf four years ago. I currently play 1st man on the Corning-Painted Post High School Golf Team with a 1.1 GHIN handicap. I have a strong work ethic and drive to be a scratch player and better student within the next 12 months. I consider my determination, dedication and passion to succeed to be my strengths as a student-athlete.
I carry a 3.1 GPA, and I am interested in studying Business Administration with a concentration in Management. After graduation, I would like to be involved with golf after graduation like my Father who is the General Manager of the Corning Country which hosted the LPGA Corning Classic from 1979-2009.
A few of my 2018/19 highlights:
• 2018 CNY Jr. PGA Tour Championship-75-71-1st place
• July 2019 Hurricane Tour at Hannastown GC-73-70-1st place
• 2018 Medalist in Class A Championship-74
• 2018 Low Scoring Average on CNY Jr. Tour
• 2018 Medalist in 12 of 13 High School matches with 36.0 average
I currently work with Joe Lusardi from Locust Hill Country Club who has had 18 junior golfers sign letters of intent with Division 1 programs. Over this past year, Joe has improved my mechanics, mental game and fitness.
