Hello, my name is Grayson Wetch and I will be a senior at Oak Grove Lutheran School in Fargo, ND in the fall of 2020. As I look ahead to my future my goal is to play college golf while pursuing a degree. I want to continue playing golf in college to complete at a high level, develop my skills and be part of a team.
I have played hockey for 13 years and for the last 2 years have played at the varsity level for Fargo South- Shanley- Oak Grove being selected as a captain for the 2020-2021 season. I have always enjoyed being on the ice with my team mates during the cold North Dakota winters. I also have participated in North Dakota High Performance Hockey Camps and been invited to the Northern Plains Hockey Camps. Golf is my true passion and I have been playing competitive golf for over 6 years throughout the Minnesota Junior PGA Tour as well as the Steve Weidner Tour. I have had the opportunity to play varsity golf for Oak Grove for 5 years and have qualified individually for state each of the 4 years. I have been a member of the Class B All- State team for 3 straight years placing 6th in 2017 and 2018 and was the runner-up in 2019. This year in won the 2020 North Dakota State Spring Golf Championship sponsored by the North Dakota Golf Association. I have also competed as a member of the Oak Grove High School Trap Team for 2 years.
I have been given opportunities to develop as a leader by being chosen as one of the captains for the golf team for the past 3 years. My leadership skills were further developed by being chosen by the faculty and staff at Oak Grove to attend the North Dakota Leadership Seminar in 2019.
Outside of school I have been involved in Boy Scouts since elementary school. I have attended the National Boy Scout Jamboree in 2017. I am currently a Life Scout and working on completing the requirements for my Eagle Scout.
Although, I do not know what i would like to major in, I am committed to putting in the work to succeed both in the classroom and on the course.
