Addison Yarbrough '24 Recruiting Profile

I started playing golf later than most, at the age of 12.  My father is a full-time golf instructor so I caught up quickly. In my first tournament at the age of 12,  I shot 128. After practicing for 365 straight days, the next year I shot 85 on the same course.  This is an example of the work ethic I have both on and off the course.  I understand the importance of hard work and hard work with a purpose.  I look to carry this work ethic through my college career and possibly beyond. 

I also work hard in school both academically and socially. So far, I have maintained Honor Roll status with grades. I am a leader in both Young Life and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). I am also the Student Council Secretary.  

Playing in a high school program that has won nine Division 1 State titles in 16 years and playing on two of those teams has shown me the importance of team golf and comradery.  Playing golf for your team requires a different mentality than playing as an individual. Every shot impacts the team and I enjoy that responsibility. 

I believe I would bring leadership both on and off the course and strengthen any program.
