Personal Statement

My goal is to play basketball at the collegiate level.  I am a great candidate for your team because I am coachable, a leader by example, and am  willing to do whatever the team needs me to do.  I was captain for my school team Sophomore and Junior year.  My teammates voted me because I lead on court, always cheer them on, and am always in the gym working to get better.  My work ethic is one of my greatest attributes.  I believe hard work will let you accomplish your dreams, and I show that every time I workout. Additionally, I work hard in the classroom.  I take my academics seriously and focus in class.  After high school, I plan on majoring in engineering or business.

Basketball has influenced my life tremendously.  Ever since I started playing, I had a love for the game. I made friendships through the game and learned multiple life lessons.  One life lesson I learned is failure helps you grow if you don't give up.  You have to use defeat as motivation to work even harder to get the results you desire.  If you give up, your goals will never become real.

  • 2 years
  • Over the summer I would go to a basketball clinic/ workout every morning from 5:30- 8:30 A.M. with Tonya McClure (614) 286-6004 . In the fall, I go to her clinic/ workout sessions every Saturday morning, and she hosts a fall league on Sunday where I was the 4th pick in the draft to my team called the Washington Mystics.
  • On my own workouts and school workouts
  • 3 years
  • When it is off season or pre-season, I workout a least 3 times a day. I first do a skill workout right after school. Then, I go straight to lifting or speed agility and quickness at Peak Human Fitness. Later in the night, I do open gyms or 1 on 4s, and right after I do on my own basketball workout. I take Friday as a rest day then compete Saturday and Sunday at fall ball or clinics. When it is summer time, I spread out my workouts throughout the day and add going to basketball training with Tanya Harris at 5:30 A.M.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
