I attend Dayton Regional STEM school and play varsity golf for Miamisburg High School. I lettered all 4 years. I played through a hand injury during fall 2021 but never gave up. It is now healing well.
My goal is to be a well balanced person with a degree in either biology or ecology, mathematics including (statistics or actuary), physics and a good golfer competing at the college level. I was able to move up from 5th on varsity at Miamisburg Vikings golf as a freshman in 2018 to 1st on varsity as a sophomore and junior. I also want to compete on college level team fishing as well.
My scoring average is 76.0 as of October 2021. My PGA coach is Jim Rue, a former PGA tour player in Argentina. My goal is a 2 handicap for fall 2021. As of July 2021 it stand at 3.3. I currently compete on the SOPGA Tour and Junior Golfweek Tour and have been scoring into the upper 70s in tournaments from about 7000 yards.
I would be great on a college team because I am very relaxed, enjoy being a team player, don’t think over the ball and am not phased by pressure. I am an excellent test taker and an A student. I have a lot of common sense, work well in team environments and am a count on person.
My wealth of science knowledge let’s me understand how golf works. Competing globally in Destination Imagination three years in a row allows me to feel comfortable on a big stage. In spring 2020, I went to State of Ohio Science Fair after winning regionally and locally. I also received an Ohio State University scholarship for summer 2020 at OSU StoneLab for ecology and fishing. My research on harmful algal blooms is being used by NOAA National Ocean Service for Lake Erie which is very rare for a high school student or even a college student. You can see my work at NOAA under D. Noel Dayton Regional STEM School ---- https://nccospublicstor.blob.core.windows.net/hab-data/bulletins/lake-erie/2021/projection_2021_01.pdf?utm_medium=email&utm_source=GovDelivery ----
My strong fishing knowledge allows me to anticipate and see what is coming and this helps me at the art of golf.
Recently, I became a contributor to the NOAA National Ocean Service for the Lake Erie Harmful Algal Bloom forecasts. It is rare for a college student to be a part of the forecast and almost unheard of for high school students research to be used. This tends to be held for Master level college students. However, my research was used in 2021.

NOTE: See D. Noel, Dayton Regional STEM School as contributor. This is a very proud moment for me!
Finally, I learn fast and am coachable! I did select premier soccer for 10 years before along with golf. I listen and learn daily with my PGA coach.
I look forward to college and my love of golf.
