My name is Aidan Bruder and I am a dedicated student athlete at Talawanda High School. Although I’ve played several organized sports, I focus my efforts on academics and my golf game. My weighted GPA is currently 3.83/4.00
During the Covid summer of 2020, with little to no golf experience, I spent a lot of time at local golf courses golfing with my dad, who has a true, genuine love for the game. It was that summer I discovered my passion for golf. I had that itch to get better and become the best golfer that I can be.
Freshman year, 2020, taught me valuable lessons about the game of golf. Though it’s an individual sport, I found the importance of support from older, more experienced golfers and coaches, that being a good golfer directly relates to your ability to handle pressure and the best golfers exhibit great sportsmanship.
I averaged a 54 on nine holes Freshman year. I was determined to get better! I entered summer tournaments, started working with a swing coach, took lessons and practiced on the range, course, and greens every day. By Sophomore year, I had dropped my 18-hole average by 22 strokes. This past season, my Jr. year, I started thinking about continuing my golf career through college. I continue the commitment of working on all aspects of my game and have set goals for what I want to achieve my senior season, this upcoming year. I currently have a 3.1 GHIN Handicap, with an average 18-hole score of 75.4.
Thank you for taking time to read this. I am excited to reach out to coaches and talk about the possibility of continuing my golf career throughout college.
